Chaos 11 – RAW Chaos Day
January 11, 2009
According to ddate, today is Sweetmorn, the 11th day of Chaos in the YOLD 3175. That makes it Chaos 11, which is RAW Chaos day, the Discordian celebration of the “sailing on” of author, philosopher and teacher Robert Anton Wilson. He went under many names and in many masks – the Discordians know him as Saint Mordecai the Foul, the Subgenius call him Pope Bob.
This great man meant a lot to me, personally. Having never met him, I only have the experiences of his books, audio recordings, video, blog, and other texts. Out of all the authors over the years that I’ve come in contact with, R.A.W. has had the greatest impact on my mind and spirit. His ideas on the levity we should have in life, mixed with the serious metaphysics and science that he would clamor over with n’er a worry – so refreshing and uplifting.
Here is a collection of most of his books. Also, here is a torrent with tons of audio recordings, video, and more books. His word should be heard by all that can hear – and we must keep the lasagna flying. Remember kids: Only download these if you already own hard copies of the material. Piracy is bad…right?

Intermittens Issue 2
December 22, 2008
The “neu” online Discordian publication Intermittens, brought to you by the Peedy Spangs over at PricipiaDiscordia forums, has just been released. Intermittens is a kind-of-monthly-perhaps webzine containing articles on everything going on in the noosphere of Discordia. From Media Mindfucking to Discordian Whoroscopes – this magazine has all the Important Things that you will ever need to know.
Intermittens is a new periodical produced and distribuited by the Peedy Spags. When I say “periodical” there isn’t necessarily and defined period. Anyone can volunteer to edit an issue, and fill it with whatever they want. The editor picks a theme, and then people submit or link to their submissions. We also throw in some quirky columns, ads, features, to make it visually appealing and provide a nice mouth feel for the mind. And by all means, share. Send the PDFs on to people you know, people you love, people you hate, hamsters, and other creatures.
Download now, and get to reading pardner. Heck, while you’re at it – go ahead and download the high-quality, lossless version with pop-up booklet*!
* Pop-up booklet not included
Headlines that don’t make sense until you have your first coffee #1
Paedophile Glitter arrives in UK
I swear I was thinking “what, glitter for paedophiles? Glitter that attracts paedophiles? Is this a new episode of Brass Eye? WHAT THE HELL IS THE BBC TALKING ABOUT?”
Which just goes to show how necessary coffee is in my life.

Robert J. Shea's Son Releases Book 'Shike' Online
January 31, 2008
Mike Shea, Robert J. Shea‘s Son, has just released his father’s book, Shike, online. Best of all, he’s released it under a Creative Commons license! When I saw the news, I was so happy. Robert J. Shea is one of my favorite authors, due to his hand – alongside of Robert Anton Wilson – in the creation of one of my favorite series, The Illuminatus! Trilogy.
In 1981, after writing Illuminatus! with Robert Anton Wilson, my father, Robert J. Shea, wrote Shike, a book set in medieval Japan. Last night I released Shike on BobShea.net under a Creative Commons license along with All Things Are Lights, another of my father’s novels.
I only ask that those who take the time to read my father’s work also take the time to send any corrections as the scan wasn’t perfect.
Nothing is more important to me than to have my father’s work available to the widest audience. Thank you for your support.
It seems that there may even be hope to get Illuminatus! up on the web under the same license. Mike posted in the comment section over at BoingBoing and said that he’s working towards getting that released, as well as some more of his father’s work.
I’m hoping some day to work out a way to get Illuminatus on the web. The rights are split up at the moment, with half to me. If anyone happens to have a digital text version, I’d love to get a copy. I don’t think it’s technically a copyright volation to send them to one of the copyright holders.
Also, if anyone has the energy and capability of scanning and OCRing my father’s other books: Saracen and Shaman; I’d love to release those as well.
Amazing news! I would love to see my favorite novel of all time freely distributed. Getting Robert Shea’s work out there free for all to read would be so fantastic.
